We physicists have trouble with this sort of thing.
ja + jo = 25
(ja - 8) = 2 (jo-8)
----------------------
well then
ja = (25-jo)
so
(25 - jo - 8) = 2 jo - 16
17 - jo = 2 jo -16
3 jo = 33
jo = 11
I guess ja = 25-11 = 14 then
ja + jo = 25
