Tu as des tas de crayons. Tu peux_____donner un a Ghyslaine?
Would "en" or "les" go in the blank? I'm not sure whether "en" should be used in this phrase.

Rather than "des tas" = un tas de crayons. Because "un tas" =
a heap or a pile" is singular so "le" dinner if referring to "un tas" or "en" if referring to "crayons."

Mini lesson on "en"
The pronoun "ewn" replaces "de + noun," and generally refers to things. It is usually translated into English by "some, any, of it (them), from there.
"En" is always expressed in French, even though the equivalent may not b expressed in Englis. "En" must be used when the noun is omitted after a number, an adverb or noun of quantity, or an idion requiring "de."

Ex: Voici des crayons. En voulez-vous? (Here are some pencils. Do you want some?"

It would STILL be "Tu as UN tas de crayons. Tu peux en donner un, etc.

P.S. What is understood is "des crayons" = Tu as des crayons, in other words.
