I think textbook perspective means a rather specialized perspective based on conventional wisdom, what might be found in a textbook, as in various techniques of shading. Art techniques are not scientific.
Answered by Reed
Well, in a way some of them are based on scientific principles, but the effect is not.

So textbook perspective is shading? Because whenever I looked it up it came up with a bunch of textbooks lol.
Answered by Reed
No, it is not shading. It may be used to describe the techniques the artist(s) used. Knowledge from a textbook.
