let the number of boys be 5x and the number of girls be 6x
5x+6x=44
11x=44
x=4
so we have 20 boys and 24 girls
(notice 20:24 = 5:6)
5x+6x=44
11x=44
x=4
so we have 20 boys and 24 girls
(notice 20:24 = 5:6)
