I understand 3/5 times but when you do the times 45 do you put 45 at the top or bottom and what do you multiply by what to get the number 27?

Would the actual answer be 27/45 so then just 27?

3 times 45 = 135
135/5 = 27

when you multiply fractions, you multiply numerators and denominators. Then cancel common factors to reduce to lowest terms.
2/3 * 9/7 = 18/21 = 3*6 / 3*7 = 6/7
3/5 * 45 = (3*45)/5 = (3*9*5)/5 = 3*9 = 27
You know that 1/5 of 45 is 9, so 3/5 is 3*9 = 27
2/3 * 9/7 = 18/21 = 3*6 / 3*7 = 6/7
3/5 * 45 = (3*45)/5 = (3*9*5)/5 = 3*9 = 27
You know that 1/5 of 45 is 9, so 3/5 is 3*9 = 27

You do 45 divided by 9 to get 5 which is denominator of 3/5, and then 9 x 3=27.
