Susie spent 4 1/4 hours on Monday and 3 5/8 hours on Tuesday working on a history project. About how long did she spend working on the project?

d. 9 hours

Answer: 8 hours

I first found the common denominator which is 8 and added 4 2/8 plus 3 5/8 and came up with 7 7/8 and I am rounding this to 8.

Please let me know if I am correct on this.
