So I have to come up with a plot for school. I am having trouble with one part though. So far its about a small group of friends who have talked in a few years. They finally meet again at a mutual friends wedding and get trapped in an elevator together. They stopped talking because of a fight/situation they had.

My problem is that I don't know a good fight/situation friends could have that would lead them to stop talking. A situation would be preferred but any and all suggestions are helpful!!!

Well, what do friends get in fights over? Somebody was spreading rumors about another friend? Somebody's boyfriend jilted her and chose another of the friends to marry? Can you think of anything else?

Well the fight happened back when they were in high school but they still resent each other for it. The mutual friend I was thinking could be a boy how broke them apart. I don't know how or why.

Another way was if it happened in high school and the mutual friend has nothing to do with any of it, but just happens to know the characters.

Also only 3 characters are in the fight and they are the only ones that get trapped in the elevator.

a friend posted an embarrasing video of them and its all over the internet and they are some really bad comments
