Identify all the components of this statement: 3a + 2b = 7
Is this an equation or an expression and why?

I believe it is an equation because it has an equal sign

I believe the constant is 7 because that never changes

I'm not sure about the other terms, variable, term, and expression.

Please help. Thank you.

Terms are separated by + and - signs. In this case, the terms are 3a, 2b, 7.

Variables are usually letters or names whose value can be set or calculated. In this case, a and b are the variables.

An expressions is any set of terms and operators. In this case, the expressions are

3a, 2b, 3a+2b and 7.
