A paperback is 106mm in width. What is the width in centimeters? In meters?

learn to convert like a physicist (not math way)

106 mm * ( 1) does not change anything
BUT
I claim that 10 millimeters /1 centimeter)
is ONE, because it is the same top and bottom
so what I do is:
106 mm (1 cm/10 mm) = 10.6 cm
mm cancel and left with cm

and
106 mm (1 m/1000 mm) = 0.106 m
again mm cancel, left with m
