All can be used as common multiples. They are all prime factors for those numbers.

Proportion is wrong. Multiply equation by 27, then divide by 5.

Okay thanks so both questions are wrong??
Answered by Steve
The common multiple is 3, because 12*3 = 36

see

http://www.phschool.com/iText/mgmath_course2/Ch05/05-04/PH_MSM2_ch05-04_Obj1.html

and scroll down a bit.

4/5 = x/27
4*27 = 5x
x = 108/5
