dy/dx=1/sinx

I do not know if you mean tan (x/2) or (1/2) tan x
Parentheses are important.

I will just do y = tan x = sin x / cos x
perhaps that will get you going.

dy/dx = (cos^2 x + sin^2 x)/cos^2 x

= 1/cos^2 x
