If X and Y are in the interval (0,pie/2) and sin x =3/2 and cosy =12/13 evaluate each of the following

a)sin(x-y)

1 answer

the Greek letter is pi, NOT pie!!

just use your addition formulas.

sin(x-y) = sinx*cosy - cosx*siny

Draw your triangles for x and y.
sinx = √3/2 means cosx = 1/2
cosy = 12/13 means siny = 5/13

Now just plug in the numbers.
