a x^2 + b x + c
(1) a(4) + b(-2) + c = -20
(2) a(0) + b(0) + c = -4
(3) a(16) + b(4) + c = -20
--------------------------------
eqn (2) tells us that c = -4
so c = -20
(1) a(4) + b(-2) = -16
(2) a(0) + b(0) = 0
(3) a(16) + b(4) = -16
------------------------------
(1) -8 a + 4 b = 32
(3) 16 a + 4 b = -16
---------------------- subtract
-24 a = 48
a = - 2
you can take it from there
(1) a(4) + b(-2) + c = -20
(2) a(0) + b(0) + c = -4
(3) a(16) + b(4) + c = -20
--------------------------------
eqn (2) tells us that c = -4
so c = -20
(1) a(4) + b(-2) = -16
(2) a(0) + b(0) = 0
(3) a(16) + b(4) = -16
------------------------------
(1) -8 a + 4 b = 32
(3) 16 a + 4 b = -16
---------------------- subtract
-24 a = 48
a = - 2
you can take it from there
