Leslie needs 324 inches of fringe to put around the edge of a tablecloth. The fringe comes in lengths of 10 yards. If Leslie buys 1 package of fringe, how many feet of fringe will she have left over?

I figured 1 yard is 3 feet
10 yards is 24 feet
10 feet is 120 inches
20 feet is 240 inches but then I got stuck

No. We do not accept or send email to students.

Let's make this problem easier.

1 yard = 3 feet = 36 inches

(10 * 36) - 324 = _______ inches left over

Answered by Patrick

Answered by Ms. Sue

For some reason I am still stumped
Answered by Patrick
I think I have it figured out.
324 inches divided by 3 feet = 108
108 divided by 36 inches equals 3 feet
Answered by Ms. Sue
36 inches are left over.

How many feet are in 36 inches?

3 feet is right.
