when two parallel lines are cut by a transversal and one alternate interior angle is x squared and the other is 3x. How do u slove for x?

but alternate angles are equal in parallel lines, so

x^2 = 3x
x^2 - 3x = 0
x(x-3) = 0
x = 0 or x = 3
of course x = 0 for an angle in parallel lines makes no sense, so

x = 3
