Find the x- and y-components of the vector d⃗ = (6.0 km , 31 ∘ left of +y-axis).
I worked it out and got 5.14, 3.09 and apparently it's wrong, I don't know what I did wrong.

check your signs. The line is to the LEFT of the y axis.

In this question, the vector makes a 31 degree angle with the y-axis, not the x-axis. Also, remember that the x-value is negative. The correct answer is -3.09, 5.14 km.
