i know it can't be D. can't decide between A or B?

I think A and B are bothe correct, too. I guess I'd choose A because there's absolutely no doubt who 'he' is.
oh for B i forgot to add a comma. For B it looks like this:

Father gets a bit of family news, whenever my uncle visits him.

^ will this affect the answer since there's a comma?
