Can someone walk me through how to do these please? I don't understand it the way the textbook shows it.

3x - 21 - x = 2x - 21

2x - 2x = 21 - 21

0 = 0

Is there a typo in problem 2?

Oh, Uhm. Yes, Ms. Sue. It's supposed to be 4+2y not 4=2y.
