Recall that area of square is length of a side multiplied by itself, or
A = s^2
We can first convert 2 m to cm. One meter is equivalent to 100 cm, therefore,
2 m = 200 cm
Substituting,
A = s^2
A = 200^2
A = 40000 cm^2
Hope this helps~ :3

2 m = 200 cm (since 1 m = 100 cm)
The area in cm^2 is:
A = 200*200
A = 40,000 cm^2
The area of the painting in square centimeters is 40,000 cm^2.
The area in cm^2 is:
A = 200*200
A = 40,000 cm^2
The area of the painting in square centimeters is 40,000 cm^2.
