Hi so I have a speech and we have to create a hand gesture and come up with a definition for it.
I chose the word fire, but I'm having issues thinking about when it could be applicable in everyday life.
I was thinking about if there is a fire and someone has earbuds in so they can't hear, but I feel that's not very often so I'm not really sure.
Are there any applicable uses for when you would only use a hand gesture for fire?
Thanks!

If, as you already note, the person who needs to be alerted has ear buds in use (which is more common than you seem to think). Also if the person is deaf. Or if you are outside a building and the person who needs to be alerted is inside, but you are visible to each other through a window. Can YOU think of any other circumstances?
