A student has 70%, 80%,79%,and 69% on the first 5 tests . There is one test left and he wants to get at least an 80% in the course. is it possible ? Explain.

You gave grades for 4 tests not five.
I will assume total of 5
(70 + 80 + 79 + 69 + x)/5 = 80
(298 + x) = 80 * 5
x = 80 * 5 - 298
x = 102

Once you found your error, replace A with your 5th test and solve for x
