well the essay is kind of your opinion. You need to choose your reading role that you use. i'm going to provide an example, feel free to copy but put it in your own words.
ONE READING ROLE I USED FOR MY NOVEL "THE GIVER" WAS, LUMINARY. THIS IS BECAUSE ONE SENTENCE IN CHAPTER 22. JONAS QUOTED "ITS CALLED SNOW GABE, SNOWFLAKES THEY FALL DOWN FROM THE SKY, AND THEY'RE VERY BEAUTIFUL." THIS IS MAKING REALIZE THAT JONAS AND GABE WILL BE VERY CLOSE AS GABE GETS OLDER. GABE HAS A GOOD INFLUENCE ESPECIALY SINCE JONAS IS OLDER. USING THE LUMINARY ROLE I MANAGED TO PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE CHARACTERS QUOTES.

lol feel free to use my answer as well. P.S. I just came up with my answer from reading over the answers to the questions. I never read the book so enjoy.

I chose the reading role summarizer. One important idea was how the author wished to leave the final choice of Gabriel and Jonas's fate to the reader at the end of the novel. The reading role summarizer helped me understand this idea when the book states, "Suddenly he was aware with certainty and joy that below, ahead, they were waiting for him; and they were waiting, too, for the baby. For the first time, he heard something that he knew was music. He heard people singing." These sentences put this novel to a conclusion and with the summarizer as my reading role, I understood that the author wanted to leave this final choice to the readers. The other important idea that was given in this novel was that personal choice is important to society and life. As said in one of the passages, "Once he had yearned for choice. Then, when he had had a choice, he had made the wrong one: the choice to leave. And now he was starving. But if he had stayed..." This evidence from the passage proves the importance of personal choices. And my reading role helped me find the details and main ideas.

This should be good as long as ya reword it, but only use it if you can't think of anything else.

well for the people of next year or fellow stragglers.. i did summarizer. I used two questions that i "got from analyzing what i read" what would happen if they had no reciever and if it was really necessary to remove color. Then say i think it would help give people a deeper understanding. and theeen be like it helped me see things in different ways or helped me understand better blah blah blah
