I don't know anything about polynomials, but I can see in the first problem that the numerator and the denominator are the same.

well, these are not polynomials. Look up the definition of polynomials.
What these are are powers to a base.
Rules
3^2 * 3^5=3*5
4^2 * 4 * -3=4^-1=1/4
5^4/5^6=5^4 * 5^-6= 5^-2=1/5^2
4^3 * 7^3...can't be combined, you have to have the same base..
a^3 * b^5/(a^4 * b^5)=
a^(3-4)*b(5-5)=a^-1 * b^0
= 1/a
