The average mark on an entrance exam was 70%, with a standard deviation of 9.6. In order to be accepted you must get 60% or better. If 800 students wrote the exam how many were accepted?

Z = (score-mean)/SD
Find table in the back of your statistics text labeled something like "areas under normal distribution" to find the proportion/probability related to the Z score. Multiply by 800.
