I need to label a map of Canada during it's fur trading and explorer times. I cannot seem to map both the Columbia River and the Thompson river as on google images they seem to be located at the same spot... could someone explain and give a link to an accurate map please? Thanks!

And also, the mackenzie river seems really long.. did I map it right? It extends from the northwest territories down to alberta and all the way to the edge of british columbia. Did I do this right?

Yes, you've correctly located the MacKenzie River.

I'm looking for maps for you, or other sites. It's taking a while. The two rivers are not the same! Here's a site for the Thompson River:

thank you Ms. Sue and Reed! I also have to annotate my map... what could I write for the three rivers?
Answered by Ms. Sue
What does your teacher want as annotations? All the maps I've seen just name the features.

Answered by Brenda
explaining its significance and what it means, don't think he wants the features though

also, I still have trouble distinguishing the thompson river(the 2nd link you sent after the columbia one has an image that's too small to see). Thanks again!

You may be able to enlarge the map by pressing CTRL and + on your keyboard.

You can look up each of these rivers in Google to find significant facts about them.

"David Thompson navigated the entire length of Columbia River in 1811. Map of Columbia and its tributaries showing modern political boundaries" I read this on wikipedia on the david thompson page. So Thompson explored the Columbia River,, yet has a different river named after him?
