Buoyant force on a submerged or floating
object is equal to the weight of fluid displaced.
Volume of metal
= volume of fluid displaced
= weight of fluid displaced / density of fluid
= (buoyant force) / density of fluid
= (500-446) g / 1000 g/L
= 54 mL
Mass of metal = 500 g
density of metal = mass/volume
= 500/54 g/mL
= 9.26 g/mL
= 9.26 kg/m³
relative density = 9.26
