Are you supposed to write an essay about why people should quit gambling?

What are your reasons?

Do you mean that little old ladies shouldn't play bingo? Do you mean that people shouldn't buy lottery tickets? Do you think that people shouldn't go to Las Vegas occasionally?

Just an added point: You are better off not writing an introduction until you have written your essay

Order of operations

think out the draft argument
make an outline of the three to five supporting reasons
write out the paragraphs for the reasons.
write the introduction, checking the validity of the hypothesis against your reasoning
write the conclusion.
