    First you have to use the Pythagorean Theorem to find the hypotenuse of the right triangle.  In this formula, c is the hypotenuse.
a^2 + b^2 = c^2
20^2 + 21^2 = c^2
400 + 441 = c^2
841 = c^2
29 = c
Now, add 20 + 21 + 29 to find the perimeter.
    
a^2 + b^2 = c^2
20^2 + 21^2 = c^2
400 + 441 = c^2
841 = c^2
29 = c
Now, add 20 + 21 + 29 to find the perimeter.
