How do you find the perimeter of a letter? for ex. the letter U

A perimeter is the distance around a solid figure. Most letters are not solid figures.

Get a piece of string go around the figure then measure

just like Ms.Sue said the perimeter goes around a solid figure and unless you are measuring O or something this will not work but like "Cool Girl" said if you must get a string put it around the letter and then measure it. =D hope i was helpful Jessica!!!
