B. -4, -3, 0, 5
C.-3, 0, 3, 6
D. -2, 0, 2, 4
is it b
Answered by
Steve
Since 1(1-2)-3 = -4, (b) is certainly the only possible choice, since the others don't start with -4.
Luckily, the other values also work, so (b) it is.

Okay, okay, okay. For some of the questions, they changed for some people. For the "bulbs" one, I have options of 64, 512, 128, and 256. I have no other greater numbers. So, for people who have that one question or anyone with similar questions. I will state the question and then the answer...This will take a while, but be patient with me...I will enter it in then try to help you with the essay questions. Again, please be patient with me. :)

A car traveling at 46 mi/h slows to a speed of 23 mi/h in 5 seconds. It maintains that speed for 5 seconds and then slows to stop after 5 more seconds. Which graph shows the car's speed over time?
For this one I will only explain the correct answer:
It starts at 46 mi/h it slows DOWN to a speed of 23 mi/h in 5 seconds. Maintaining the speed of 23 mi/h for 5 seconds (a straight line). It FALLS (slows) to a stop. (I hope I explained that graph okay.)

A. The speed of the car decreases from 4 mi/h to 2 mi/h in the first 3 seconds, increases to 5 mi/h in the next 2 seconds, and then remains at 5 mi/h for the last 5 seconds.
Given the function rule f(x)= x^2-3x+2, what is the output of f(-2)?
D. 12 <Explination: Plug in -2 for x then do the equation. f(-2)=12
Suppose you earn $15 each time you mow the lawn. Which function describes the relationship between your total earnings E and the number of cars you wash, c?
B. E(c)=15c <Explination: For each car you wash, you earn $15. For one car is $15. How many cars did you wash? c...is the amount of cars you washed. So: 15c. The total earnings is E. So it would be E(c).
The data in the table illustrate a linear function.
x -3, 0, 3, 6
y -6, -2, 3, 6
What is the slope of the linear function? Which graph represents the data?
D. 4/3 <Explination: the change in y is 3 and the change in x is 4. Rise-over-run.
Which hill described in the table is the steepest? Explain.
Liberty Hill; it rises 4 feet for every 3 feet of horizontal travel. <I have NO explanation for this.
If I explain the questions, I will. I have been doing this for about 3-4 hours now. I am getting tired, sorry.
Which graph represents the linear function y= 1/3x-4?
B.

Which function rule represents the data in the table below?
x 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
y 9, 15, 21, 27, 33
D. y=6+3x
Max charges $3.50 per hour when he mows lawns, plus $6.00 for transportation expenses. Which function rule represents the amount y Max charges to mow lawns for x hours?
C. y=3.50x+6.00
The sale price of ground beef at a local grocery store is $1.49 for the first pound and $1.09 for each additional pound. Which function rule shows how the cost of ground beef, y, depends on the number of ounces, x?
B. y=1.09(x-1)+1.49
I am getting a lot more tired of my math test as time passes and I am placing my answers here. I won't type out the last 2 tables. I greatly apologize.
Which function represents the data in the table?
A. y= 3x-8
Which quadratic rule represents the data in the table?
C. y=x^2-5
I have decided not to do anything about the essay questions here. I wish you good luck. I will, however, submit my assignment and see if I got them correct. I will let you know. Thank you for bearing with me.

Okay, okay, okay. I have gotten three incorrect here. Number 9 or the table that talks about the different hills are incorrect. It's actually the OTHER Liberty Hill option: Library Hill; it rises 3/4 foot for every 1 foot of horizontal travel.
Number 10 is actually C: The lowest like on the graph that is an increase.
Lastly, number 12 is also incorrect, this one is B: y=3+6x
The rest are correct. I hope I helped in SOME way. I am ready to relax. It's a rainy day, which I absolutely love. Have a good day!

2. C (768)
3. B (-4, -3, 0, 5)
4. B (Starts at 45 and decreases to 24 stays steady then decreases to 0)
5. C (The speed of the car decreases from 4 mi/h to 2 mi/h in the first 3 seconds, increases to 6 mi/h in the next second, and then remains at 6 mi/h for the last 6 seconds)
6. A (24)
7. B (E(c) = 15c)
8. B (3/2)
9. D (Liberty Hill; it rises 3/4 foot for every 1 foot of horizontal travel)

12. A (y=4+5x)
13. C (y=3.50x+6.00)
14. B (y=1.09(x - 1) +1.49)
15. D (y=3x+8
16. D (y=xsquared+5)
17. Basically the weight and speed doesnt haave anything to do with it. All that matters is the calories. PLEASE USE YOUR OWN WORDS THOUGH!
18. Look at the values of x and y then graph the x and y values then calculate the slope.
19. This one is the easiest because you are basically just telling them what season is which and why *hint winter is A*
Good luck! Do your best! :)
