The fencing goes around the garden. 24 / 4 sides = 6 meters on each side.

A = LW

A = 6 * 6

A = 36 square meters

What is the USE format ?
Answered by Reiny
Ms Sue correctly assumed that the largest rectangle one can have for a given perimeter is a square, and gave you a correct solution based on that assumption.

Were you supposed to find the answer without making that assumption?

Let me know and I will show you how.
