You expect to get forty miles to the gallon in that? Why, that old wreck has a monster V8; besides, it's fifty years old and needs an overhaul.

I state possibly true or possibly false due the gasoline that was made then vs. now. Also, cars or trucks in this century gets 29 City mpg and 35 highway mpg.

V8 engines didn't get 40 miles to the gallon when they were new. It would be impossible for them to improve without being overhauled and adapted and have a miracle worker do the work.
