Please help me with the following:

Which lines are written in iambic pentameter? Check all that apply.

A. The smoke of my own breath
B. And what I assume you shall assume
C. I never saw a moor
D. Yet certain am I of the spot
E. And summer's lease hath all too short a date
F. Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow'st

I have a hard time with these, but can someone tell me if I am correct or not?

I think the answers are B and F, but I am not sure about any of the selection.


Please help me by checking my answers. Any help will be greatly appreciated!!! :)

Only two of these lines have 10 syllables.

Do they both have the same pattern of accented syllables?

After reading the website a few times, and trying to match the lines up with the "da Dum" pattern, I think E and F are the answers.

E seems to have more of the "da DUM" pattern than B, so I think B is out.

I also think that F is still one of the answers because it does seem to have five iambs.

Would E and F be correct?

E and F are the only answers. The other lines have less than 10 syllables.

Reading Shakespeare isn't easy. However, Sparknotes has modern English translations of some of his plays.
