I believe that C is correct.
-2 is x, and 6 is y.
First equation:
y = -3x
Substitute -2 for x, and 6 for y.
6 = -3 x -2
6 = 6
So that is correct.
Second equation:
3x + 2y = 6
Substitute -2 for x, and 6 for y.
(3 x -2) + (2 x 6) = 6
Multiply.
-6 + 12 = 6
Add.
6 = 6
That is also correct.
Therefore, I think C is the correct answer.
I hope this helps! :)
what is the solution of the system
y=-3x
3x+2y=6
a. 2, 6
b. -1, 3
c. -2, 6
d. 1.5, -4.5
I have an answer but I seriously doubt it's wrong. Please help for this one? Thanks

Yes, thank you so much Brady!:D I now understand! (I was making it a lot harder than necessary)
You're welcome SkatingDJ! :)
I had to do these for some of my lessons too, and they were one of the easiest things for me(Especially if you substitute.).
