Q. Sidney flew in an airplane five times during her vacation. The flights overaged 2 hours 28 minutes long. The lengths of her first four flights were 2 hours 10 minutes,3 hours 20 minutes,1 hour 15 minutes,and 2 hours 40 minutes. What was the length of her last flight.
A. Do I just add all the hours and minutes and than mulpite the answer with 5 than mulpite that answer with 4?

since the average of the 5 flight is 2 : 28
the total time was 5(2:28)
= 10:140
= 12:20

first 4 flights:
2 : 10
3 : 20
1 : 15
2 : 40
------
8 : 85 = 9 : 25

last leg = 12:20 - 9:25
= 2 : 55

Too bad the world can't can convert to "metric time"

Convert hours to minutes. Add all 4 known flights to get 565 minutes. Solve for "x".....565+x divided by 5 equals 148 minutes...148 x 5 = 740. 740-565=175 minutes...eqyals 2 hours 45 minutes (convert back to gours/minutes).
