acceleration is the change in velocity per time unit.


For instance, if the INITIAL velocity was 3m/s, and the final velocity was 7 m/s, in which it took 6 seconds to attain the final velocity...

acceleartion=(final-initial)/time
= (7-3)m/s /6s= 4/6 m/s^2
