Lashonda found a recipe that makes 2 1/2 dozen cupcakes and requires 1/4 cup of vegetable oil. If she makes 90 cupcakes for a family reunion picnic, how much vegetable oil will she need?

How many dozen are in 90? How will you find out?

Once you find that number, then multiply by 0.25 cup (1/4 cup), and see what happens.

Sorry for not responding, I think I have to divide 12 into 90 which would give 7.5...7.5 x 0.25= 1.875. Now what /Writeteacher?

. . . you there?

2.5 dozen = 28

.25/28 = x/90

To find x, multiply both sides by 90 and then divide by 28.
