Scarlet-Camille needs three lengths of wood to finish a project. She needs one piece measuring 148
cm, one piece measuring 38 cm, and one piece measuring 42 cm. Every time Scarlet-Camille cuts a length of
wood she loses 3 mm of wood. If Scarlet-Camille can only purchase lumber in full feet, how much wood does
she need to buy for the project?
I don't understand the losing 3 mm thing please help!

3 mm = 0.3 cm
Add 0.3 cm to each piece.
148.3 + 38.3 + 42.3 = 228.9 cm
