r + 6r = 49

7r = 49

r = 7

So. The answer is seven

I still don't know the answer cause the teacher said that there are 7 red beads and she wrote 7 * 6 is how many blue beads there are; which is 42. And the question said that there are 42 beads in all.... 42 + 7 is definitely more than 42. I don't understand!

I mean 49 OH!!! NOW I UNDERSTAND!! I just didn't see that it was 49, not 42!
