x+1 = 9/5
x = 4/5 = .8
.8*100 = 80 %

check
add .8*1/3 to 1/3

.8/3 + 1/3 = 1.8/3

18/30 = 3/5 sure enough

or, convert to have the same denominator.

1/3 = 5/15
3/5 = 9/15
9 is 5+4, or 80% more than 5
