The "type" depends upon how you want it classified. It is a double replacement (some call it double displacement) reaction. It also is a precipitation reaction since BaSO4 is insoluble.
The net ionic equation is
Ba^2+(aq) + SO4^2-(aq) ==> BaSO4(s)
The Na and NO3 are spectator ions.
The net ionic equation is
Ba^2+(aq) + SO4^2-(aq) ==> BaSO4(s)
