The square of the sum of 2x and 3y is equal to the sum of the square of y and the square root of x. Which of the following represents this statement?

I got:
(2x + 3y)^2 = y^2 + √x

But the correct answer choice is
(2x + 3y)^2 = y^2 + x^2

I don't understand how, because isn't the square root of x √x, not x^2?

your answer looks correct to me. There must have been a typo in the problem, with a spurious "root" tossed in.
