While shopping for a party, June bought 2 1/6 lbs of hamburger, 3 4/5 lbs of chicken, and 4 1/2 lbs of ham. How much meat did she buy?

Change the fractions to fractions with the common denominator of 30.

2 1/6 = 2 5/30
3 4/5 = 3 24/30
4 1/2 = 4 15/30

Add.

9 44/30 = 10 14/30 = 10 7/15 lbs.
