let the distance be d miles

for Hannah:
let her speed be x mph
d = 6.5x

for Dylan:
let his speed be x+30 mph
d = 2.6(x+3)

6.5x = 2.6(x+30)
6.5x = 2.6x + 78
3.9x = 78
x = 20

then d = 6.5(2) or 130 miles
