Hello Dr. Bob
I have been sick and missed some of my classes and my classmates want to act stupid. So if its not too much trouble could you just make sure that I am on the right track and let me know what is wrong and how I can fix them. I have a lot of assignments that I have to make up and if it is okay I would like to request you. YOu seem very knowledgeable. Thanking you in advance.
State whether each of the formulas represent an acid, a base, a salt, an acid anhydride, a basic anhydride or none.
CuF2 = salt CaSO4 = salt
Ba(OH)2 = base C2H4= none
LiOH = base C12H22O11=none
HBrO3 = acid HI = acid
RaCO3=salt P2O5=acid anhydride
KNO2 = salt HCN= acid
H2C2O4 = acid MgO=basuc anhydride
Complete and balance equations representing the reactions.
NaHCO3(s) + HCl(ag) >>> NaCl +2CO +H20
CaCO3(s) +HCl(ag) >>> CaCl +CO3H
The acid formed when carbon dioxide reacts with water is == I think it is Carbonic Acid with a formula of H2CO3?

All of the above looks ok to me except for these two.
NaHCO3(s) + HCl(ag) >>> NaCl +2CO +H20
NaHCO3 + HCl ==> NaCl + CO2 + H2O

CaCO3(s) +HCl(ag) >>> CaCl +CO3H
CaCO3 + 2HCl ==> CaCl2 + H2O + CO2
NaHCO3(s) + HCl(ag) >>> NaCl +2CO +H20
NaHCO3 + HCl ==> NaCl + CO2 + H2O

CaCO3(s) +HCl(ag) >>> CaCl +CO3H
CaCO3 + 2HCl ==> CaCl2 + H2O + CO2
