Bobo bought a 1 ft squared block of cheese. He needs to cut it into 3 in. cubes. The block is yellow outside but green on the inside. How many 3 in. cubes does it have? How many of the cubes have no yellow face, one yellow face, 2 yellow face, etc.
Please help!!!

First of all, it is cubed rather than "squared."

It would be best for you to <I>draw a diagram </I>to answer these questions. Only the 3" cubes at the corners will have 3 yellow sides.

With 3" cubes, that will leave 6" by 6" by 6" in the center with no yellow. How many 3" cubes would that make?
