Her father's book club "likes" Edgar Allen Poe.
Is it supposed to be "likes" or "like?"

The club likes . . .
The subject, "club," is singular so it needs the singular verb, "likes."

How about
The book club likes....
or
The book club like....
Seen in that perspective, the book club appears to be singular :)

Yes, but I had an example in my lesson:
"The team is unable to agree on new uniforms."
The lesson said that the verb should be "are" because all the team members are acting individually. That's why I'm confused on the sentence I asked about.

I think it's clear that in this sentence the book club is one entity.
