cross-multiply ...
100x = 42x = 13188
58x = 13188
x = 13188/58 = 6594/29 or appr 227.38
I took your * to mean multiplication, the common symbol for multiplication
If, somehow, you meant it to be an exponent, that is
[x/(x+314)]^100 = 42
then take the 100th root of both sides
x/(x+314) = ± 42^(1/100) = ± 1.038083989
take both cases, cross-multiply and solve for x
