In both cases, magnitude is the same units
however distance and speed are scalars and ONLY HAVE MAGNITUDE
but
displacement and velocity are VECTORS and have both magnitude and DIRECTION
Your speedometer measures speed
but
for velocity you need a compass as well
Your odometer measures distance
but
for displacement you need a gps
