Question
A plane has to crash on the field which is 2km by 1.5km . There is a lake in the corner whose dimensions are 900m by 300 m (i) what is the probability that the plane will crash in the lake
(ii) what is the probability that will crash other than lake.
(ii) what is the probability that will crash other than lake.

area of field = 3km^2
area of lake = (.9)(.3) = .27 km^2
so, assuming the pilot just flies around randomly till she crashes,
P(lake) = .27/3 = .09
area of lake = (.9)(.3) = .27 km^2
so, assuming the pilot just flies around randomly till she crashes,
P(lake) = .27/3 = .09
